The Swim Team of Placentia (STOP), a year-round non-profit organization, offers guided youth programs for children ages 4 & up, from the most novice to the most competitive and skilled athletes, which operates year-round. Although the team operates independently of the city and the school system, it collaborates with both to offer the community a high-quality program. A young person develops the physical skills necessary for ongoing success in the aquatics industry as well as the virtues of competition, self-reliance, sportsmanship, and collaboration when they join STOP.
The Local Swimming Committee in charge of this area of USA Swimming is called Southern California Swimming. It is one of the 59 LSCs in the nation. Six Committees comprise SCS. STOP is a member of the Orange Committee, which covers Orange County and a portion of its environs.
